Ride the Wave....

I was uploading my Halloween Pics when I came across this pic my husband took when we just went to Gulf Shores a couple of weeks ago.  It was beautiful and so symbolic.  Hard to believe something this beautiful, could destruct an entire area with such vengeance and wrath as it did this week with Sandy.

As I sat there on vacation looking at the gorgeous ocean, I realized how perfect everything that the Lord designs really is. He has a purpose for everything. Maybe a symbol of how are lives are to be on this earth.  Like waves we will have moments of great peace, and moments of great fury. Many periods of highs and lows to withstand.  The one guarantee that we all have is that each moment is as fleeting as it comes and even the roughest times will recede.

I'm grateful to this reminder always.  The picture that this too shall pass, come and go.  Yet each moment is there to teach us something about this perfect and beautiful life we have been given.

Mark 4:37-41"A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?"
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"
