Moments of Impact

The moment of impact. The moment of impact proves potential for change. Has ripples effects far beyond what we can predict. Sending some particles crashing together. Making them closer than before. While sending others spinning off into great ventures. Landing them where you've never thought you've found them. That's the thing about moments like these. You can't, no matter how hard you try, controlling how it's gonna affect you. You just gotta let the colliding part goes where they may. And wait. For the next collision.  The Vow.

If someone were to stop and ask me to sit down pen and paper to describe life in one quote the one above would have viciously came from the tip of my black pen.  Moments of Impact.  Those moments that stop us in our tracks.  Shock us, change us and ultimately make us who we are today.  That is until the next impact, when life feels we've become maybe too comfortable, maybe we take it a bit too for granted, God forbid we forgot the lesson.  I need humbled? Oh no not I.  When life and maybe the Great Lord above laughs and has a way different opinion.

Moments of Impact aren't easy, in fact they rock us to our core.  They make us look in the mirror, at that stranger. The puffy eyed- raw-purest form we work hard daily to conceal. Showing us the reality we've worked so hard to escape.  They make us uncomfortable, frightened enough to know there is no other way but up from here.

Moments of Impact are defining.  They make us dig to that place where blame, shame and guilt reside.  They make us hungry enough for the truth, that one solution will force ourselves to accept, change and maybe just maybe make beauty out of our reality once and for all.

If I know anything from having moments like this, it is the truth will find us.  When we least expect it and at the most inconvenient times. Why now we say? I was busy making plans. Except our plans were nothing like the plans something much higher has for us.  Change is the only constant we will ever have in our lives.  It has no forgiveness, daily planner or pity.  It comes when it wants, invades our hearts, our lives and our sense of security.  In a world of false idols, false comfort and a twisted reality----we look up standing on that island. We realize at that moment, Faith after all is the only security we have.
